Institut Supérieur des Sciences de la Population (ISSP) is one of the five institutes of the Joseph Ki-Zerbo University of Ouagadougou which have the same status as the faculties. Its main mission is to conduct research and training. ISSP, led by Principal Investigator Dr. Georges Guiella and Fiacre Bazie, completed six rounds of the PMA2020 family planning survey in Burkina Faso from 2014-2018.
In collaboration with FHI-360, questions on contraceptive acceptability were added in 2016. In 2016 and 2017, ISSP completed two rounds of remote data collection via phone calls.
ISSP completed two rounds of PMA Nutrition surveys in 2017 and 2018, measuring the nutritional status of women and children, including mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC) measurements. PMA Agile data were collected in two urban areas from facilities and clients.
