On January 29 and February 19, 2015, dissemination events were organized to share the first round of Performance Monitoring and Accountability 2020 (PMA2020) survey findings in Nigeria from the states of Kaduna and Lagos.

In Kaduna, the unmet need for family planning remains high, with 34.4% of women who want to delay or avoid a pregnancy not using any method of contraception. In Lagos, disparities in modern contraceptive use persist, particularly for poor women and youth.

Fewer than 1 in 5 women from the poorest wealth quintile who have a need for family planning are currently using a modern method of contraception, compared to 1 in 2 women in the richest quintile. Discussions at both events centered on how to more effectively meet the contraceptive needs of young women.
